Gold

SLAM is testing the extent of spectacular gold intercepts ranging up to 274 g/t over 0.5 m drilled in its 12 hole 2010 diamond drilling program on its wholly owned Reserve Creek project.  This bonanza grade intercept occurs within a 16.85 m core interval grading 16.45 g/t gold.  All 12 holes hit gold mineralized tuffs and iron formations.

Reserve Creek  was the culmination of a 2010 drilling campaign for gold in the Fort Hope area of Ontario that also included 1 hole at Keezhik, 2 holes at Miminiska and 4 holes on the Opikeigen Joint Venture with Beatrix Ventures Inc.  These projects  are part of a regional play in the world-renowned gold-producing Uchi Sub-province of northwestern Ontario. This prolific gold producing area is host to the Red Lake gold mining camp where Goldcorp operates one of the worlds most profitable gold producers, the Red Lake Mine. The Uchi Subprovince has produced in excess of 40M ounces of gold.

The east end of the Uchi Sub-province is centered around the Eabametoong First Nation in the Fort Hope area. The geology here is very similar to Red Lake with greenstone belts of volcanics and sediments intruded by a wide range of intrusive bodies. Widespread and locally intense hydrothermal alteration with known gold mineralization controlled by major fault and fold structures are evidence that the East Uchi rocks of Fort Hope have been subject to the same ore forming processes that formed the Red Lake gold deposits. SLAM's gold properties comprise 93 claims covering 16,064 hectares of highly prospective Uchi geology.

Reserve Creek

SLAM is now focused on the bonanza gold zone within the Reserve Creek gold deposit. With intercepts ranging up to 16.45 g/t gold over 16.85 m and individual samples ranging up to 274 g/t gold over 0.5 m, this gold deposit shows potential for both grade and tonnage.  Click on Reserve Creek to view maps and a detailed description of drilling results including a table of all  47 holes by SLAM to date.  The current drilling is designed to extend the bonanza grade zone encountered in 2010.  Reserve Creek is 100% owned by SLAM.

Opikeigen Gold

The Opikeigen Gold property is jointly owned and managed by SLAM and Beatrix Ventures. It encompasses 4112 hectares in 37 mineral claims located near Fort Hope, Ontario. Previous drilling at Opikeigen has resulted in discovery of 10 separate gold occurrences within the 10 km long claim block. Opikeigen is at the centre of an emerging gold camp with an expanding inventory of gold deposits located near Fort Hope approximately 150 km east of the former gold mining town of Pickle Lake.

Miminiska

The Miniska gold property consists of 28 mining claims with a total area of approximately 4,912 Ha situated approximately 110 km east of the mining community of Pickle Lake and 40 km west of the community of Eabamatoong.

2 holes drilled at Miminiska in 2010 resulted in a new gold discovery. Hole MM10-01 cut a 1.5 m interval grading 64 g/t gold at a depth of 150 m below a gold soil anomaly. This bonanza gold zone occurs in a zone of biotite alteration adjacent to a mineralized porphyry and is open in all directions.

In May, 2011, SLAM entered into an agreement with Namex Explorations Inc., whereby they can earn up to 70% interest in the project through an exchange of shares, cash and exploration commitments.

Keezhik Gold

The Keezhik Lake property is located in northwestern Ontario centered roughly at 51046'N and 88030'W approximately 120 km east of Pickle Lake, and approximately 40 km northwest of the settlement of Fort Hope. Comprised of twelve unpatented mining claims, the property is 100% owned by SLAM Exploration, with an agreement with Zephyr Minerals whereby they can earn up to 70% interest.

SLAM has drilled 10 holes on the property to date with the most significant gold occurance in the final hole, which was drilled in 2010. The property is located in the rich Uchi Subprovince mineral belt which is home to the Red Lake Mining Complex as well as many past producers.

SLAM discovers new zone of Nickel, Copper and Cobalt on it's wholly owned Goodwin Lake Nickel project in Northern New Brunswick. The project is located 5 km south of the Halfmile lead-zinc-silver deposit currently being developed by Trevali Mining Corporation in the prolific Bathurst Mining Camp of New Brunswick and nearby to Xstrata's BMS#12 Mine.

SLAM is pleased to report additional gold assays from its recently acquired gold discovery located at Saint Quentin, New Brunswick. A series of quartz veins were excavated in 3 trenches 100m along strike from the original Lavoie discovery vein. Of 31 grab samples collected from quartz veins as well as adjacent sediments, 25 samples contain gold ranging from 0.04 g/t to 7.18 g/t.
